Welcome to the Dig My Walker Design Contest!

I'm so glad you've decided that the days of plain, institutional-looking walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility devices will soon be far behind us. I'm also excited that you are willing to put your creative talents to good use. A couple important concepts to note: YOU NEED NOT BE A PROFESSIONAL ARTIST to participate in this contest, though it is certainly OK if you are an artist. And, it is not a requirement that you have a mobility disability to participate in this competition. I am really interested in the submissions that are the most original; the ones that are the most "conversation-inducing". (A cool extra: this contest encourages the use of already-existing assistive devices. In a sense, we are "recycling" used, often second-hand products and turning them into new, attractive accessories. If you do plan on individualizing a new/newer device, it's OK; I just don't want you to go out and purchase brand new when there are so many gently used products out there just waiting to be improved upon!) Please refer to the contest rules for more information. The whole idea is to have fun with this process; you'll be creating art that turns medical necessities into lifestyle accessories!
